Who, What and Why the Heck?
Who am I?
Personality wise, I guess I can’t be placed in a single category. In High School you had the geeks, the jocks, the hipsters… I always considered myself a hybrid. My traits and inclinations had me connecting with different crowds. However, I guess I can best be described as a geeky jock. If I were a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle I would be Donatello (sorry for those who don’t get the reference).
Ok, so what does that mean? Well, it means that I’m always being pulled in many different directions. My experiences are many and of various sources. Simply put, I have a lot on my mind, and so I have lots to talk/write about.
Why start blogging?
Well, as I say in Lights, Camera, Action, obtaining information through books, articles, videos, etc is a pretty passive experience. Connecting with others and sharing experiences is far more interesting. It’s fulfilling. That is what encourages me to build a platform on which I can connect with others. Now, I want to inform, but I also want to entertain. Who wants to be caught dozing off reading a boring blog post? I aim to inform and to connect, but most importantly to captivate.
It has taken me a while, but recently realized that there seems to be a common thread to what interests me the most in life: Personal Development. Now, the conventional definition of personal development is somewhat unattractive. It often borders on propaganda. My understanding/interpretation of personal development is broader. I simply see it as progression. It can be in any aspect of life. Because of it’s encompassing nature I believe it touches each and everyone of us. That is why I see it as a good topic to write about.
Like I said, personal development is a very broad topic. My areas of focus will be fitness and interpersonal relationships. At least at first. Being a man I only find it logical to address men in my posts, as I can relate to that segment of the population so much more. However, I have received feedback from women, telling me they too can relate/connect to my material. I am open to suggestions. I wish to remain flexible in my approach.
In my blog I aim to consolidate whatever has worked for me or others and deliver it through blog posts. I believe a job worth doing is a job worth doing well. Hopefully the information will be usefull to you and will make you better. The way I see it whatever it is you’re doing, why not Ace it?
